Choosing an Under-Scarf Cap
Cotton, stretch or lace — what to look for in the cap that sits under your hijab.
An under-scarf cap is the foundation of a hijab: it keeps the scarf in place and everything neatly tucked away. The right one is comfortable enough that you forget it is there.
Cotton is the everyday choice — soft, breathable and easy to wash. Tube caps in cotton or a cotton blend slip on in a second, and packs of two, three or four mean there is always a clean one ready.
The best cap is the one you forget you are wearing.
If you like a little stretch, look for stretchable caps and tie-back styles: the tie lets you adjust the fit at the back. Lace and net caps add a decorative touch and feel light — a pretty choice for occasions.
Whichever you pick, choose colours that disappear under your scarf. Black, white and skin tones cover almost every outfit.
